Weather department officials have recorded 106.2 mm of rainfall in the Imphal West district since Sunday, based on available data. Incessant rainfall since Sunday because of cyclone Remal has caused massive flooding in Manipur, with the water levels in most rivers passing through Imphal city increasing rapidly and two major rivers – Nambul and Imphal – alreadyoverflowing into several parts of Imphal East and West districts. The Khurai area of Imphal East district witnessed the first incident of river flooding, which resulted in a river overflowing on both banks.Efforts from locals and the state government helped check the devastation along the eastern side of Imphal river, and efforts are on to contain the river flow on the western side in Khurai. Two people were killed in an accident involving a Pune builder's son.

  Two people were killed in an accident caused by the son of a well-known builder in Pune that has come to light. The incident occurred in Kalyaninagar around 2:30 AM on Saturday. Vedant Agarwal, who is the son of the owner of Brahma Realty, was responsible for killing two people in a fatal accident. An FIR was filed at Yerawada police station. An FIR has been registered against Vedant Agarwal (R. Brahma Sun City) at Yerawada Police Station. Anis Avlia and Ashwini Kosta died on the spot in the accident.
