1,400 manipuris are currently stuck in Telangana. They have urged the telangana government to arrange a shramik special train to send them back to Manipur. Hyderabad Manipuri society (HYMS) today said that the Manipur has already granted permission for the evacuation exercise. The Manipuris now stuck in Telangana include students and people working in various sectors, who have already lost their job there owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sources in HYMS said the Telangana government is delaying the evacuation work citing different reasons and hence the Manipur government needs to put pressure on the Telangana government to expedite the process. At the same time, HYMS thanked the Telangana government, Seva Bharathi and BJYM Telangana for providing ration to them. However, they can longer sustain on free ration alone as their livelihood has been completely paralysed, the organization said. In a letter to Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana, HYMS sought his intervention to execute the arrangement of a Shramik Special train to evacuate them. The organization mentioned in the letter that the list of around 1400 people has been registered with the Manipur government website Tengbang.
