              In sync with the Central Govt efforts to achieve open defecation free society and
provide modern amenities to the remote villages, Sajik Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) constructed 04 seater Toilet Block and Bathroom blocks with Installation of  1000 ltrs Syntax and Pump in the Village Phaisi under Border Area Development Programme for the financial Year 2018-19 which was inaugurated by Mr Ngamlet Haokip, Chief of Phaisi Village in Chandel District on 17 May 2020.

The facility will not only improve the living standards but also contribute towards creating cleaner & hygienic environment. This comes as a great boon for the villagers where even basic amenities such as water, electricity and road link are totally non existent. SajikTampak battalion has also projected many such projects for future in order to further alleviate the sufferings of locals and to drive them towards a developing future.

The Chairman and villagers of Phaisi expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for living upto the spirit of being Friends of NorthEast people in its truest sense and assured full cooperation to Assam Rifles in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the area.

"The cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ pronounced as UM-PUN has intensified into a ‘super cyclone’ and is expected to hit the West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts as a very severe cyclone with a wind speed up to 185 km per hour."                     H urricane Ampan is getting stronger and stronger. Ampan can fall from Digha in this state to any area between Hatia Island in Bangladesh. Ampan's strength will increase several times in the next 24 hours. According to meteorologists, Ampan will look like a 'Super Cyclone Storm'. The speed of rotation of this very strong cyclone can be up to 160 kilometers per hour.
