Cyclone Ampan hit the coast of Bangladesh, will pass in 4 hours

                  Strong cyclone Ampan has started crossing the coast of Bangladesh. It is passing through West Bengal and Bangladesh bordering the Sundarbans on the east side of the sea coast from 4 pm on Wednesday.

The wind speed during crossing is between 160 to 180 kilometers per hour. Director of the Meteorological Department Samsuddin Ahmed said. He said in the first light, Ampan will cross Satkhira, Khulna region of Bangladesh between 4 pm and 8 pm. At this time the wind speed will gradually decrease.


Earlier, a special notification from the Meteorological Department said cyclone Ampan had moved northeast into the Bay of Bengal. It was located 480 km southwest of Chittagong seaport, 460 km off Cox's Bazar coast, 290 km from Mongla seaport and 320 km southwest of Payra seaport on Wednesday afternoon. For this reason, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show the 10th disaster signal and Chittagong seaport and Cox's Bazar coastal area have been asked to show the 9th disaster signal.

A special notification issued by the Meteorological Department this morning said that cyclone Ampan could cross the West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts of India through the Sundarbans by this evening. Within 75 km of the cyclone center, the maximum continuous wind speed is 200 km per hour, which is increasing up to 220 km in the form of gusts or gusty winds.
